Global Impact Creator Program
Empowering the Next Generation of Global Entrepreneurs
Welcome to the Global Impact Creator pilot program, an exciting collaboration between the Accelerator Centre (AC) and the University of Waterloo (UW).
This innovative program is designed to empower students, faculty, and recent graduates from the University to explore global unmet needs in human, animal, and planetary health through global entrepreneurship.
Program Overview
Our goal is to equip you with the skills and resources needed to identify and solve critical issues in both rural Canadian and global communities. Through the AC’s structured methodology, you will embark on a journey to:
- Research Unmet Needs: Dive deep into the challenges faced by communities and identify areas where impactful solutions are needed.
- Develop and Pilot Solutions: Use your research insights to create innovative solutions, then test and refine them in real-world settings.
- Engage with Experts: Gain insights and mentorship from industry experts and seasoned entrepreneurs who will guide you throughout the program.
- Showcase Your Work: Present your learnings at our culminating showcase event, hosted at the AC, where you will have the opportunity to share your progress and impact with a broader audience.
Timeline
- Duration: September 2024 - March 2025
- Participants: Open to students, faculty, and recent graduates of UW
- Focus Areas: Human, animal, and planetary health

- Research and identification of unmet needs

- Regular mentorship and support from industry experts
- Culminating Demo Day event

Eligibility
The Global Impact Creator program is open to the following UW community members:
- faculty members
- staff
- senior-level undergraduate students through the e-coop program
- graduate-level students with permission from their program/supervisor
- recent graduates (within 2 years)
How to Apply
Applications for the Global Impact Creator pilot program are now closed.
Participants selected for the program can expect confirmation of their acceptance by August 15, 2024. Programming will begin September 17th and conclude March 25, 2025.
